BE BEAR WISE!

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) During the last month police have responded to several calls regarding bears. Sgt. Van Kessell of the East Algoma OPP would like to remind everyone that although the bears are cute and fun to watch, they are still a live animal with unpredictable behaviour, especially from the adults. People who wish to observe the animals should do from a safe distance allowing emergency personnel to deal with the situation should it become necessary to use force or a bear sounding device.
