NOON HOUR ASSAULT Batchawana First Nation, Ont., The Batchawana First Nation police were called to a Frontenac Street residence just past the noon hour yesterday after a woman reported being assaulted. At about 12:30 p.m.

The Batchawana First Nation police were called to a Frontenac Street residence just past the noon hour yesterday after a woman reported being assaulted.

At about 12:30 p.m. yesterday the woman called police to say that a male she has a relationship with, assaulted her and had fled from the home. Police were given a description of the vehicle that the man was driving. A check of several homes from Echo Bay to Sault Ste. Marie was conducted but the man was not located.

The woman did not require medical treatment. This investigation is continuing by the Batchawana First Nation Police. The identity of the nineteen-year-old male suspect is known to the First Nation Police.
