NAME RELEASED IN FATAL COLLISION

(WAWA, Ont) On Sunday November 20, 2011 at approximately 11:35 a/m Superior East OPP in Wawa attended a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 approximately 30 kms south of Wawa. Pronounced deceased at the scene was 13 year old Tyler Scott SPURRELL of ST. PHILIPS, Newfoundland.

The driver of the tractor trailer involved in the collision has been issued a summons for “Fail to Drive in Marked Lane” contrary to The Ontario Highway Traffic Act.

TWO MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISIONS REPORTED

(BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION, ON) - OPP responded to a two vehicle collision at the corner of Frontenac St. and Batchewana St. at 8:20 am yesterday morning between a van and a pick up truck.

There were no injuries to the drivers.

The driver of the van, 47 year old James Boyer of Frontenac St. was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with No Clear View to the Front.


(AWERES TWP., ON) – A single motor vehicle collision was reported to Sault Ste. Marie OPP at 11:15 am yesterday morning on Highway 556 in Aweres Township.

There were no injuries to the driver but the pick up truck had to be towed.

The driver, 32 year old Calvin Premo of Maki Lake Road was charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with Fail to Drive in Marked Lane.
