(Blind River, Ont.) In the late afternoon of Saturday 29 Sep.07 a “customer” at the LCBO outlet in Blind River decided to help himself to a rather large bottle of whiskey and leave the store without paying.

Police were called when an employee noticed the person secret a bottle of whiskey on his person and left the store. The employee took notice of the vehicle the person left in and called the Police.
Police tracked down the individual at a local residence and arrested him for theft under $5000.

Charged is: 28-year-old Shane MOSKALUK of Roman Ave. Elliot Lake, Ontario. Moskaluk is to appear in court in Blind River on December 06, 2007.

Canoe Theft

(Blind River, Ont.) On Saturday 29 September 2007 a Blind River resident discovered his canoe missing from his back yard.

The canoe was not used on a regular basis and could have gone missing over the past two weeks. It is described as a Sportspal 14 foot with camouflage paint scheme.

SAULT STE MARIE MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT

(Goulais River, Ont.) Sault Ste Marie OPP have charged a sixty two year old Sault Ste Marie man with sexual assault.

Members of the Sault Ste Marie OPP Crime Unit have been investigating a sexual assault complaint that allegedly took place in mid August 2007 at a seasonal home in Goulais River. The male victim reported to police that the accused allegedly touched the victim in an inappropriate manner.

This morning, detectives from the Sault Ste Marie OPP Crime Unit arrested and charged sixty two year old Russell MASON, of Kerr Drive in Sault Ste Marie He is charged with two counts of Sexual Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. Mr. Mason will appear in court on Monday 19 November 2007.
