Highway # 17 north of Wawa is closed to traffic. The highway was closed as a result of a single motor vehicle collision.

SHOPLIFTING IS A CRIME

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Police have charged a local woman after investigating a complaint of a possible theft.

On September 26, 2008 at approximately 1:40 p.m. police received a call to attend a local grocery store. On scene police learned that the suspect had allegedly take items without paying.

Charged with Theft Under is Marie Claire Irene JOLY (56) of Elliot Lake. JOLY is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on November 4, 2008.

BREAK ENTER AND SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On September 27th, 2008 police received a complaint of a possible sexual assault.

Investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly entered the residence of the victim, while she was sleeping and sexually assaulted the victim.

Charged with the following is Robert Alan CHAYLT (44) of Elliot Lake.

Sexual Assault

CHAYLT is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on November 4, 2008.

DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) While on general patrol on October 4, 2008 at approximately 7:24 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on Highway 108.

Through investigation the driver was charged.

Charged with Exceed 80 is Randy G. CADDEL (46) of Spragge, Ontario. CADDEL is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on December 2, 2008.

YET ANOTHER MISCHIEF TO A VEHICLE

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigation a mischief to a vehicle parked on Denison Road in Elliot Lake.

Police learned that sometime last Saturday night unknown person(s) threw a stone brick through the back window of a truck parked in the driveway of the victim. Approximate value of the damage $1,000.00

Investigation continuing.

MISCHIEF

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On October 5, 2008 police received a call to attend a residence on Axmith Avenue regarding a mischief to a vehicle.

On scene police learned that sometime during the previous night unknown person(s) damaged both antennas and a hood ornament of a vehicle parked in the driveway. Damage value is approximately $600.00.
