(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating an attempt to Break and Enter a day care facility in the city of Elliot Lake.

On September 22, 2008 police received a call to attend a day care centre on Westhill Road in Elliot Lake. On scene police learned that the suspect(s) had damaged two windows at the back of the building. Entry was not gained.

Anyone with information regarding the above attempt Break and Enter is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Investigation continuing.

THEFT OF MONEY AND RING

(Spanish, Ont.) The OPP is currently investigating a theft from a residence on Trunk Road in Spanish. The complainant attended the OPP station in Elliot Lake to report the theft.

The victim reports that sometime between September 6, 2008 and September 20, 2008 unknown suspect(s) attended his residence and removed money and a ring from a safe. The ring is of sentimental value and is described as a heavy gold ring with Simcoe Kart Club Championship on it. It has a large stone in the centre with smaller stones.

RESIDENCE VICTIM OF BREAK AND ENTER

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On September 22, 2008 police were called to attend a residence Frobel Drive regarding a possible break and enter.

Investigation revealed that unknown person(s) entered the residence sometime during the night through a window. At the time of the report it was unknown if anything was missing.

DRIVER’S CHARGED IN TWO MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISIONS

(Batchewana First Nation, ON) OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision yesterday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. on Frontenac St.

27 year old Shannon CHURCHILL of 796 Frontenac St. was charged with Follow To Close under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The vehicle she was driving impacted a vehicle traveling in front of her.

There were no injuries and damage was minor to both vehicles involved.

(Hodgins Twp., ON) OPP responded to a second motor vehicle collision yesterday afternoon on Highway 532 in Hodgins Township in Searchmont at 5:00 p.m.

A blue Ford Topaz traveling southbound on Highway 532 crossed the centre line, veered into oncoming traffic and then ended up in the eastbound ditch, narrowly missing a vehicle traveling northbound.

The vehicle was demolished.

The driver, 25 year old Christine LACROSSE of 661 Lennox Avenue in Sault Ste. Marie, ON was transported to hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries.

LACROSSE was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Unsafe Lane Change and Failing to Wear a Seatbelt.
