VIDEO: Police continue search for driver who fled crash scene

Crash occurred on Highway 17 North on March 5

Police hope to identify a driver that left the scene of a collision that occurred on Highway 17 North near Heyden on March 5, states a news release issued by Crime Stoppers.

The driver in question is described as an "older female, with long dark hair, glasses and medium build."

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in fail to remain motor vehicle collision. 

On Saturday, March 5, 2022 at approximately 12:50 a.m., a pickup truck and a SUV collided on Highway 17 North in Aweres Township. While the driver of the pickup truck was speaking to the driver of the SUV and was on the phone with police, the female driver of the SUV left the scene.

The SUV is described as dark-coloured older SUV with front end damage. The driver of the SUV is described as an older female, with long dark hair, glasses and medium build.
