Wawa man faces Intoxicated in a public place, breach charges

Police say they found the accused laying in a grassy area near a residence

WAWA – Superior East OPP say they've arrested a Wawa resident after an incident that took place earlier this week.

Police say they responded to a call at approximately 7:20 a.m. yesterday in regards to an unwanted person on Beck Avenue in Wawa. 

When police arrived, they found the accused laying in a grassy area near one of the residences. They were then arrested for allegedly being intoxicated in a public place, and police say they also discovered the accused was breaching court-ordered release conditions. 

Further investigation revealed that the person was breaching court ordered release conditions. 

As a result, Colton Valliere, 27, from Wawa, was charged with the following:   

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).  

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa on Sept. 14, 2020.
