Wawa resident accused of assaulting police, public intoxication

The charges stem from a recent incident where police responded to a disturbance

A Wawa resident has been charged with assaulting a police officer as well as being intoxicated in public.

On March 4 at approximately 10:49 p.m., police were called to a disturbance on Chris Simon Drive in Wawa. 

When police arrived, they eventually arrested one person for public intoxication.

Police say that once they arrived at the Superior East OPP detachment, the accused instigated an altercation with officers.

David Carroll, 33, of Wawa has been charged with being intoxicated in public and two counts of assault a peace officer.
