Wawa resident faces theft charges

WAWA — A Wawa resident faces theft charges following an incident that occurred earlier this month.

In a news release issued today, Superior East OPP said that around 6:07 p.m. on Aug. 6, they were informed of a theft from a business on Broadway Avenue in Wawa. 

Through investigation, Jean-Guy Fournier, 66, of Wawa was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code (CC). 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Sept. 12, 2022 in Wawa.
