BREAK AND ENTER INVESTIGATION (WAWA, ON) – On April 6 th , 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Wawa Detachment were advised of a break and enter that had occurred at a residence on Winston Rd.

(WAWA, ON)  – On April 6th, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Wawa Detachment were advised of a break and enter that had occurred at a residence on Winston Rd.  It is believed that the break in occurred sometime during the night of April 5th.  Stolen from the residence were a safe and its contents valued at $350.  OPP later located the safe in another area and the investigation is continuing at this time.  Anyone with any information is requested to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers.

MALE SPRAYED WITH BEAR SPRAY

(WAWA, ON) - Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Wawa Detachment have obtained a warrant for the arrest 18 year old Clint CADREAU of Michipicoten First Nation for an assault that took place on Friday April 6th just after 1:00 am.  Investigation has revealed that the victim was sprayed in the face with bear spray while in the hallway of an apartment building.  Charges in this matter include administering noxious substance causing bodily harm and failing to comply with a sentence order.

IMPAIRED CHARGE LAID

(WAWA, ON) – On April 6th, 2012 Ontario Provincial Police Superior Wawa Detachment responded to a call in the Michipicoten River Village near Wawa.  While on route to the call OPP officers had opportunity to stop a motor vehicle on Pinewood Drive, off of Highway 17 just south of Wawa.  Subsequently the driver, 23 year old Paulina MOKROER-MAKOWSKI of Wawa was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences;

  • Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80 milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

She will appear in Wawa Criminal Court on June 11, 2012 to answer to these charges.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT CHARGE LAID

(CHAPLEAU, ON) – On April 6th, 2012 Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Chapleau Detachment received a complaint of ongoing harassment.  As a result of prior complaints and this investigation a 43 year old female from Chapleau was arrested and charged with Criminal Harassment.  She will appear in Chapleau Criminal Court on September 19th, 2012 to answer to this charge.  The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identities of those involved in this matter.

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT RESULTS IN IMPAIRED CHARGE

(WHITE RIVER, ON) – On Monday April 9th, 2012 Ontario Provincial Police Superior East White River Detachment received a traffic complaint advising that a white Mitsubishi Lancer was driving erratically.  The complaint reported the vehicle was northbound on Highway 17 just south of White River.  OPP located and stopped the vehicle on Highway 17.  As a result the driver, 34 year old Francois ARPIN of Saint Charles-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences;

  • Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80 milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

The accused is scheduled to appear in Wawa Criminal Court on June 11th, 2012.
