Traffic stop results in Drug Charge

(Wawa, Ontario) – On the 26th of April, Superior East OPP stopped a vehicle on Highway 17, south of Wawa for speeding.

Further investigation revealed suspected drugs were in the vehicle.

Police seized 32 grams of marijuana from the driver.

22-year-old Mathew Buttle of Thunder Bay Ontario was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

He will appear in Wawa Court in June to answer to the charge.

Stolen Boat Motor

Echo Bay, Ont., Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating a stolen boat motor from the Echo Bay area.

Sometime over the past two days thieves took a 20 hp engine off the back of a boat. The boat was left, pulled up on shore, on one of the waterways in the Echo Bay area.
