Update
Further to our release this date regarding the 1992 Toyota Paseo located on its side along Highway 17 just north of Havilland Shores Drive. The driver 19 yr old driver, Chantal Duchesne of Chelmsford reported to Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. Detachment this morning and provided the required information to complete our report. It appears that she was not familiar with that stretch of roadway and entered the corner at a speed quicker than she was able to handle. She lost control of the vehicle and it ended up on its side. No one was injured. A transport truck driver gave Ms. Duchesne and her passenger a ride into Sault Ste. Marie. On arrival she phoned her parents for assistance and awaited their arrival before reporting the matter to police.

Car located on Havilland Shores Drive

Have you lost your car??

We have one, but are at a temporary loss to identify the driver.

Shortly after 3 a.m. this morning we received a report of a car on its side on Highway 17, just north of Havilland Shores Drive.

When officers arrived they found the car but no driver.

We towed the car and although damaged it is for now, at least, safe and sound.

Efforts are being made to contact the registered owner from Chelmsford Ontario for assistance in identifying who was behind the wheel.

The car is a 1992, green Toyota Paseo.

Should anyone notice a carless driver wandering about give us a call.

Perhaps we can reunite them.
