BURNT CAMPER AT ESTEN BEACH (Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake is requesting the assistance of the public regarding a fire.
BURNT CAMPER AT ESTEN BEACH
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake is requesting the assistance of the public regarding a fire. On August 10, 2010 police attended the area of Esten Beach off Washington Crescent after receiving a complaint of a burnt camper. On scene police located the camper and observed that the camper was completely burnt. The incident occurred sometime between August 8th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. and August 10, 2010.

SEVERAL CHARGES FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – On July 21, 2010 at approximately 11:13 p.m. police were called to attend a local gas station in Elliot Lake regarding a possible disturbance. Investigation revealed that one subject allegedly had an encounter with a one of the subjects earlier in the day. On scene police met with all parties and through investigation have charged several people.
Charged with Causing a Disturbance is a 17-year-old male of Elliot Lake.
Also charged with the following is Charlotte THOMPSON (37) of Elliot Lake.Cause a Disturbance and Assault.
Charged with the following is Mark THOMPSON (43) of Elliot Lake.Assault and Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.
Also charged with Causing a Disturbance is Steve Michael VERRETTE (25) of Elliot Lake.
All above parties are scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on September 7, 2010.

DISTURBANCE AT LOCAL BEACH NET CHARGES FOR LOCAL YOUTH
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – At approximately 3:00 p.m. on August 12, 2010 officers of the East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake received a call to attend a local beach regarding a possible disturbance. On scene police learned that a male youth had been causing a disturbance and had been asked to leave the area.
Police located and charged a 17-year-old male. The youth, which cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with the following: Cause a Disturbance; Failure to comply
The youth is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on October 5, 2010.

SHOPLIFTING IS A CRIME…..
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – On August 12, 2010 police attended the L.C.B.O. in Elliot Lake regarding a possible theft. On scene police learned that a male subject had allegedly taken a bottle of liquor without paying. A staff member stopped the subject and police were called. Charged with Theft Under is Yanick BLAIS (18) of Elliot Lake. BLAIS is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on October 5, 2010.

SEVERAL ITEMS STOLEN FROM UNLOCKED VEHICLES
(Aweres Twp., ON) – Several vehicles parked at their residence’s on Highway 556 and Lakeview Drive in Heyden were entered overnight on Monday 16 August 2010 and reported to OPP yesterday.An Ipod Touch, GPS system, $150.00 cash, and several smaller amounts of coins were taken from the vehicles.

Always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the doors and pocket the keys when you park your car. Park in a well-lit area and never leave valuable objects or packages in plain view.

PARKED VEHICLE DAMAGED
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – Police are currently investigating a mischief to a vehicle that was parked at the Miners Monument parking lot on highway 108. On August 17, 2010 between 9:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. the victim parked his vehicle in the parking lot and went for a walk. Upon his return he noted a dent in the front left quarter panel of the vehicle and the windshield was smashed.
