ENSURE YOUR WINDSHIELD IS CLEAR BEFORE DRIVING! (Elliot Lake, Ontario) On December 16, 2008 police received a call to attend the area of Axmith Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake regarding a motor vehicle collision between a school bus and a vehicle.

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On December 16, 2008 police received a call to attend the area of Axmith Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake regarding a motor vehicle collision between a school bus and a vehicle.

On scene police learned that the vehicle was travelling towards the intersection of Axmith Ave and Axmith Ave while the bus was travelling from the intersection. The driver of the vehicle allegedly could not see due to a frosted windshield and veered into the opposite lane of traffic. No one was injured.

The driver of the vehicle has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act for “Failing to share half roadway – meeting a vehicle.

Staff/Sgt Brian Knowler reminds all drivers to ensure their vehicles are clear before driving. “Winter conditions present challenges to drivers therefore make sure your visibility is not blocked by snow and/or frost. Adjust your driving to weather conditions and have a Safe Holiday!”

WINDOW SHATTERED

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) The OPP is currently investigating a mischief to a vehicle. On December 17th, 2008 at 1:03 a.m. the victim contacted police to report that unknown person(s) punched the passenger side window of his cube van causing it to shatter. The victim was working at the school and had the vehicle parked at the back of the local high school on Mississauga Avenue. The damage occurred sometime between 12:00 a.m. and 12:30 a.m.
