Goulais Mission Man Arrested for Domestic Assault On December 30th 4 incidents of Domestic violence occurring between the 9th and 24th of December 08 were reported to police.
Goulais Mission Man Arrested for Domestic Assault

On December 30th 4 incidents of Domestic violence occurring between the 9th and 24th of December 08 were reported to police. As a result of an investigation by Batchewana Police Service and Sault Ste Marie OPP, a 26 year old Goulais Mission Man has been charged with 3 counts of Assault and one count of Assault with a weapon. The man will appear in bail court in Sault Ste Marie Wednesday Morning. Police in Ontario are mandated to take a zero tolerance stance for incidents of crimes related to domestic occurrences. Police shall lay charges where there is reasonable grounds to believe an offence has taken place. There is no excuse to settle arguments with acts of violence.

Aweres Township Man Charged with Assault

At around 2:53 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon the 30th of December Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to Fisher Trailer Park in Awares Township to investigate a complaint of two men being assaulted. A verbal disputed ended with two men being assaulted. Charged with two counts of assault is Gordon Butts age 31 of 12 Fisher Trailer Park Aweres Township. Butts will appear in court on February 9th.

One minute of bad judgment could result in tragedy for your family and others. The OPP and other police services will continue their year long RIDE stops in an effort to prevent impaired driving.
