Highway Completely Open - Road Closure Advisory

The Ontario Provincial Police advise the public of the following road closure.

Location: Hwy 17 North of Agawa Bay.

Detachment area: Wawa OPP

Time of road closure: 1335 hrs

Reason for the closure: MVC blocking lane.

OPP REPORT FIVE MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISIONS YESTERDAY

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON) – Five motor vehicle collisions were reported to OPP throughout the day yesterday.

There were no injuries in any of the collisions.

Two of the collisions occurred on Highway 17 East where one vehicle heading eastbound struck a deer and rolled over. The vehicle had to be towed.

A collision on Highway 11B in Garden River yesterday afternoon resulted in a Ministry of Transportation snowplow truck striking a deer. There was no damage to the vehicle.

Two motor vehicle collisions on Highway 17 North. one on Highway 556 and one near Pancake Bay resulted in two vehicles entering the ditch yesterday morning. Neither driver was injured and both vehicles were driven away by the owners.

OPP caution motorists to slow down and drive according to road and weather conditions.
