IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED (WAWA, ON) – On Monday February 27, 2012 at 10:22 pm, Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call on Highway 17 in Bailloquet Township just north of Wawa.

IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED

(WAWA, ON) – On Monday February 27, 2012 at 10:22 pm, Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call on Highway 17 in Bailloquet Township just north of Wawa.  Upon arrival the OPP had occasion to speak with a male observed driving a motor vehicle.  The driver, Kenneth BREZENSKI age 57 of Wawa, Ontario was subsequently arrested and charged with Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood/Alcohol content.

He will appear in Wawa Criminal Court on April 16th, 2012 to answer to the charge.

SENTIMENTAL ITEMS TAKEN FROM PARKED VEHICLE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – Police are currently investigating a theft from vehicle.  February 24, 2012 at approximately 9:00 p.m. the victim parked her vehicle in her driveway on Axmith Avenue, forgetting her purse in the vehicle.  On February 25, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. the victim returned to her vehicle and noted her purse missing.

Investigation has revealed that unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle between the above times and removed the black purse.  In the purse, the victims had a wallet, credit cards, identification and in a small pouch a wedding and engagement ring.

The East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake has received several calls regarding thefts of vehicle in the last few days and would like to remind cars owners to always lock your vehicle. 

Be a good neighbour ….. If you note a suspicious person in your neighbourhood, call police.  Your call may be the crime prevention tool that deters thieves from stalking your neighbourhood.

During the last few days several vehicles were ransacked by unknown person(s) but only one vehicle had items missing. Stolen from a vehicle on Tokyo Crescent is a Tom Tom model Go630 GPS, a package of cigarettes and 4 packs of gum.

Anyone with information regarding the above theft is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Any information that leads to the arrests or identity of persons responsible can lead to a cash reward. You can remain anonymous and crime stoppers do not subscribe to call display.
