MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 17 EAST

Garden River First Nations,

Yesterday at approximately 3:50 p.m. officers from the OPP and Anishinabek Police Service investigated a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 17 East near Hiawatha Drive. The collision involved a white Buick Century and a green Honda Civic. The female driver of the white car was allegedly making a left hand turn onto Hiawatha Drive when she was struck from behind by the other driver in the green car. Charged with follow to close is 20 year old Luke Mackenna of Echo Bay.
Minor injuries were reported from the driver of the white car.

ASSAULT

A 33 year old male will be appearing in court today after being charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of mischief under $5000.00 and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged that the accused threw the victim’s computer monitor across the room, threw a heavy oak chair at the victim striking her in the head and threatened to kill her. The incident occurred in the Searchmont area.
