MISSING PERSON LOCATED (Blind River, ON.) – On July 6 2009 police reported a missing person, George Jeffrey FOLZ from the Blind River area. Family members had not heard from him and became concerned.
MISSING PERSON LOCATED

(Blind River, ON.) – On July 6 2009 police reported a missing person, George Jeffrey FOLZ from the Blind River area. Family members had not heard from him and became concerned. On July 8 police received information as to the location of Folz and were able to contact him. FOLZ is fine and family has been advised. The OPP would like to thank the public for their assistance.

Impaired Driving

(CHAPLEAU) - On July 8, 2009 at 2:46 am The OPP received information regarding a possible impaired driver on Highway 129 Reaney Township near Chapleau. As a result officers had occasion to check a 2003 Chev Silverado pulling a boat trailer. The male driver was found to have the odour of alcohol on his breath and appeared to be intoxicated. Subsequent breath tests resulted in readings over the legal limit. Wade BURTON age 51 of Sault Ste Marie stands charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle as well as Exceed 80 milligrams Blood Alcohol Content contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He will appear in Chapleau Criminal Court on September 16, 2009.

R.I.D.E. – RIDE checks conducted throughout the Superior East patrol area resulted in no charges or infractions being noted.


RESIDENCE ENTERED

(Batchewana First Nation, ON) – A home on Corbeil Point Road was entered sometime during the day yesterday.

The only item stolen was a dozen eggs from the fridge.

DRIVER HITS DEER

(MacDonald, Merideth, Aberdeen Twp.,) – A driver travelling southbound on Highway 17 East struck a deer yesterday morning that jumped out from the ditch.

The pick up truck received minor damage and the driver was not injured. The deer was killed.
