ANOTHER IMPAIRED DRIVER NABBED
(Sault Ste Marie, Ont.) A patrol officer with the Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment took another impaired driver off the road last night.
At about 7:00 p.m. last night an officer with the Sault Detachment was headed north on Hwy 17 near the north city limits. The officers noticed the truck in front of him having difficulty maintaining proper lane position.
The truck was pulled over and the driver showed signs that he had been drinking. Roadside testing confirmed the presence of alcohol in the drivers system. He was returned to the police station where further testing confirmed that the driver was over the legal limit to be driving.
Twenty (20) year old Eric Allan KENNEDY of Rupert Acres Drive in Heyden has been charged with Driving While Over the Legal Limit contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. Mr. Kennedy was also given an automatic 90 day drivers licence suspension. He will appear in court in late July.
