OPP SEEKING ELLIOT LAKE MAN FOR ATTEMPT MURDER

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) On Tuesday June 4, 2013 at approximately 7:00pm the East Algoma Elliot Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised of a stabbing which had occurred on Westhill Road in the City of Elliot Lake. 

As a result of the ongoing investigation the OPP has obtained an arrest warrant for Edmond Joseph Michael FOURNIER of Elliot Lake for attempted murder and breach of probation. 

He is described as a white male, 35 years of age 5 feet 9 inches tall, 160lbs, fair complexion with numerous tattoos on his body. A photo of this individual has been attached to this release.  

The OPP is requesting the community's assistance to locate this wanted person but is advising the public that he should be considered armed and dangerous.  If seen do not approach but call 9-1-1 immediately.

Anyone with any information in regards to the whereabouts of Edmond Joseph Michael FOURNIER or with any other information in relation to this case is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

VACANT HOUSE FIRE

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) On Monday June 3, 2013 at approximately 9:30pm the East Algoma Elliot Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted by City Of Elliot Lake Fire Department in regards to a vacant house fire located on Dieppe Ave, in the City of Elliot Lake, ON. 

Once inside the vacant house officers along with members of the fire department located a number of sealed plastic pipes.  As a standard precaution the OPP Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) was called in to assist in the removal of the pipes from the house.   The OPP Explosive Disposal Unit did disrupt one package and confirmed that the package was not an explosive device.  Residents that were evacuated are now able to return home and Dieppe Ave in now open.  

The OPP in conjuction with the Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) are currently investigating the fire.
