TWO CHARGED IN GOULAIS RIVER BREAK AND ENTERS (Goulais River, Ont.) Two Sault Ste Marie residents have been charged with breaking into seven homes on Goulais Mission Road in Goulais River.
TWO CHARGED IN GOULAIS RIVER BREAK AND ENTERS

(Goulais River, Ont.) Two Sault Ste Marie residents have been charged with breaking into seven homes on Goulais Mission Road in Goulais River.

In the early morning hours of Thursday 26 April 2007 a resident of Goulais River called police after seeing two people acting in a suspicious manner. Officers attended the area and eventually discovered that seven seasonal homes had been entered and a large quantity of property removed from the homes.

Detectives with the Sault Ste Marie OPP Crime Unit as well as members from the OPP Rural and Agricultural Crime Team (R.A.C.T) have been investigating these break and enters as well as other break and enters in the area since April.

As a result of these break ins, police have arrested one person and have outstanding warrants for the arrest of a second person.

Thirty four year old Suzanne KOVAC of 106 Carlbert Street in Sault Ste Marie is charged with seven counts of Break and Enter and one count of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00. Ms. Kovac has been arrested and will appear in court on June 11, 2007

Police hold a warrant for the arrest of a second suspect in these break and enters. OPP in Sault Ste Marie are looking for twenty eight (28) year old Paul Andrew VAN GEEST who’s last known address was 1 Tallack Blvd in Sault Ste Marie

Mr. Van Geest is charged with seven counts of Break and Enter, one count of Possession of Stolen Property and twenty four (24) counts of Breach of Probation. Police know that Mr. Van Geest is aware of the outstanding warrants.

Detectives with a the Sault Ste Marie OPP Crime Unit are continuing their investigation into these break and enters as well as the other series of break ins surrounding our area.
