Drug Warrant Executed (Blind River, ON.) – On Friday the 27 February 2009 officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit and East Algoma Detachment executed a Warrant issued under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act on a Blind River residence.

(Blind River, ON.) – On Friday the 27 February 2009 officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit and East Algoma Detachment executed a Warrant issued under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act on a Blind River residence.

Officers had received information regarding drug trafficking and conducted further investigation to obtain the warrant. On Friday evening the warrant was executed and a quantity of drugs were seized along with equipment consistent with the trafficking and distribution of drugs.

Drugs seized were: 28 g of Cocaine, 170 g marihuana, 25 Oxycocet tablets, 215 Morphine tablets. The value of these items is estimated at $8800.

Charged with 4 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking is: 58-year-old Raymond George BERRY of Blind River, Ont.

BERRY is to appear in court in Blind River on 07 May 2009.

SINGLE MOTOR VEHICLE ROLLOVER

(Larid Twp., ON) - OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 East at Rydall Mill Road yesterday afternoon at arounf 1:45 pm.

The two elderly occupants of the vehicle were not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.

Quiet 24 hrs

Superior East OPP report a quiet 24 hour period throughout the patrol area. Officers did conduct six RIDE checks during the period with 40 vehicles being checked. One Highway Traffic Act offence notice was issued as a result.

Other investigations included; Trespass to Property, False Alarm incidents as well as Highway Traffic Act enforcement.
