HIGHWAY 129 CLOSED DUE TO WASHOUT (SUPERIOR EAST, ON) At this time the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Detachment advise that Highway 129 is closed due to a washout 20 kilometers south of the Highway 101 junction.

HIGHWAY 129 CLOSED DUE TO WASHOUT

(SUPERIOR EAST, ON)  At this time the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Detachment advise that Highway 129 is closed due to a washout 20 kilometers south of the Highway 101 junction.  The washout is located at Poulin Creek.  Highway 129 is expected to be closed for at least two days while the roadway is repaired. 

Highway 101 between Wawa and Chapleau also continues to be closed with no estimate for reopening at this time. 

For information about highway conditions the OPP request the public call 511 not the local detachments or Communications Centres.  An updated media release will be sent once the highways have been reopened.

HIGHWAY 101 ONE LANE OPEN

(SUPERIOR EAST, ON)  The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Detachment advises that Highway 101 between Wawa and Chapleau now has one lane open.  OPP and Transfield encourage all motorists to slow down when traveling through the washout area.

Highway 129 remains closed due to a washout 20 kilometers south of the Highway 101 junction.  This washout is located at Poulin Creek.
