ASSAULT CHARGES LAID AFTER WOMAN ASSAULTED

Batchawana First Nation, Ont.,

A Batchawana First Nation man was arrested and charged with assault after a woman reported that she had been assaulted.

Last night, at about 7:00 p.m., the woman called police to report that a man living in the same residence had assaulted her. Members of the Batchawana First Nation police attended the home and arrested the man for assault.

The woman did not require medical attention. The thirty four year old suspect was released from custody later in the evening with conditions placed on his release. He will appear in court in mid December.


UPDATE – Motor Vehicle Accident 10Nov03

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP-Elliot Lake Detachment has concluded their investigation regarding a motor vehicle accident on November 10th, 2003 involving a car and a pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle has been charged with Fail To Yield To Pedestrian.
