THEFT FROM LOCKED VEHICLE (Elliot Lake, Ontario) – Police are currently investigating a theft from a vehicle parked in the parking lot at 71 Washington Crescent in Elliot Lake.

THEFT FROM LOCKED VEHICLE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) –   Police are currently investigating a theft from a vehicle parked in the parking lot at 71 Washington Crescent in Elliot Lake.

Complainant stated that the vehicle was locked but by prying open a corner of a toneau cover, suspect(s) were allowed access to the items in the box of the truck.  The theft occurred sometime between Friday, November 23, 2012 and 9:00 p.m. November 27th, 2012.  Property value taken is valued at over $4,600.00.

Items missing are two duffle bags and two large plastic containers commonly referred as “Barrack Box’s”.  Property taken is as follows:  snowshoes, bindings, winter clothing including footwear, insect net head, insect bar cot, Gerber tool, water canteen, field pack assembly, 3L water reservoir, camo snow parka, sleeping bags, safety boots, tent, combat boots, locker trunk, small arms ammo case, combat trousers, chemical mask, vacuum bottle, pneumatic mattress , wet weather parka, extreme cold parka, thermal underwear, cold weather gloves, cold weather socks, camo pattern coat and several other items including clothing.  All missing items were in the duffle bags or plastic containers reported missing.

Much of the items taken had been assigned to the victim by the Canadian Armed Forces.
