DRIVER CHARGED IN SINGLE MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION (Lake Superior Mining Township, ON) A vehicle traveling on Highway 17 north yesterday morning at approximately 6:00 a.m. left the traveled portion of the Highway and ended up in the north ditch.

(Lake Superior Mining Township, ON) A vehicle traveling on Highway 17 north yesterday morning at approximately 6:00 a.m. left the traveled portion of the Highway and ended up in the north ditch.

There were no injuries but the vehicle had to be towed.

The driver, 42 year old Vance SCOTT of 143 Highway 556 Aweres Township was charged with with Fail to Drive in Marked Lane contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

YOUTH CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

(Batchewana First Nation, ON) OPP officers and officers from the Batchewana First Nation Police Service were called to the Rankin arena yesterday at 12:00 p.m.

It is alleged that a 15 year old female started a physical altercation with a 14 year old female outside the arena.

The victim was allegedly punched several times knocking her to the ground. When the victim attempted to leave she was punched in the back of the head and face.

No medical attention was required.

The accused was arrested a short time later and released on a Promise to Appear for court.

DRIVING IN THE WRONG LANE LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING ARREST

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON) Yesterday evening at approximately 11:24 p.m. OPP officers received a report from a traveling motorist of a vehicle traveling in the wrong lane on Highway 17 in Heyden.

The vehicle, a silver Nissan Sentra, was located shortly after traveling south on Great Northern Road.

The driver showed signs of alcohol consumption.

28 year old Lance DELONGCHAMP of 1398 Pioneer Road, Sudbury, ON was arrested and charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs. of Alcohol.

DELONGCHAMP was released on a Promise to Appear court on December 16th, 2008 .
