Break and Enter at Civic Centre

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Police are currently investigating a break and enter and theft at the Lester B. Pearson Centre.

Investigation revealed that sometime during the evening of October 17th, 2005 unknown person(s) entered the building while a group was utilizing the auditorium. The culprit(s) attended the front desk area and pried open cupboards and removed a safe with an undisclosed amount of property.

Purse Stolen

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On October 18, 2005 at approximately 3:56 p.m. police received a call to attend a local business in regards to a stolen purse.

Police learned that the complainant left her desk area for approximately 15 minutes and upon her returned noted the purse missing. In the purse was the victims drivers license, outdoors cards, health card, wallet with credit cards and personal papers.

While police were investigating another call was received from a local business stating a female party had attempted to use one of the stolen credit cards. Suspect left the store prior to the arrival of police.
