MISSING HUNTER FOUND SAFE AND SOUND

Ranger Lake, Ont.,

An all night search in the Ranger Lake area north east of Sault Ste Marie has located a missing seventy-year-old hunter.

At about 8:45 this morning OPP located seventy-year-old Francis Winslow in the bush. The Sault Ste Marie man is in good condition after spending the night in the bush.

A search party consisting of members from the OPP Emergency Response Team and members of Sault Search and Rescue located him. Officials at the Command Post at Ranger Lake indicate it will be about 1-½ hours before the search team and the hunter return to the command post. The search team is advising that Mr. Winslow does not require any medical treatment and should be re united with his hunting party later this morning.

Mr. Winslow was reported missing to the OPP at about 8:00 p.m. last night. He was last seen at 9:30 yesterday morning after members of his hunting party dropped him off near his hunting area. When he didn’t return at about noon yesterday, the members of his party started their own search for the man. As darkness fell and they didn’t locate the man, they left the remote bush camp and called police.
