THE “GOULAIS RIVER” TRIANGLE ??

(Goulais River, Ont.) Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating a pair of “mysteries” from the Goulais Bay and Goulais River area.

A fisherman is reporting that his thirty two foot steel boat is missing from the dock in Goulais Mission. The boat is described as being open deck steel fishing boat, primer grey and orange in colour. It has a 12 -18 inch keel and was last seen partially submerged at the dock.

The vessel was reported missing on Saturday after a violent and windy storm all day Friday. The owner believes that a storm surge on the bay during Friday may had moved the boat off the dock and sunk the vessel in the bay.

The second happening occurred last night at about 10:30 p.m. The OPP and the Goulais River Fire and Rescue were called to a car on fire in the ditch near the 300 area of Goulais Mission Road. Personnel arrived to find a car fully engulfed in flames. No one saw the vehicle go into the ditch and no one was found in the immediate area of the vehicle. No one has reported a vehicle matching this description as stolen or missing. There were no licence plates on the car. The car was a green mid 1990’s four door Ford product.
