Chippewa County Health Department (CCHD) is reporting a total of 12 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of this morning.
Majority of these cases have been reported in the last week. On June 29, the region had only four total cases reported. The unit has seen an increase of eight cases since then.
The health department is also reporting one probable case (an asymptomatic individual who has not yet been tested, but has had direct exposure to a confirmed positive case).
CCHD is reminding the public that community spread is present within the area of Sault Michigan and to maintain physical distancing measures.
