A news release issued today by the Michigan Conservative Coalition says thousands of driver are expected to take part in the upcoming Michigan Trump 2020 Cannonball Run scheduled for Oct. 11.

“Our massive MAGA boat parades, our MAGA Classic Car Cruise on Woodward Dream Cruise and our huge MAGA Classic Car Rally and Fly Over in Frankenmuth have set the stage for our biggest Trump event of the season,” said Michigan Conservative Coalition president Rosanne Ponkowski in the release.

"Join patriots on Oct. 11– literally across the whole state of Michigan – to display support to re-elect Donald J. Trump.”

Starting at Michigan's borders with Ohio and Indiana, the run encourages supporters to gather at designated rest stops up to the Mackinac Bridge and drive along two routes using I-75 and US 131.

"At high noon, using the highway entrance closest to you, go north on either I-75 or US 131. The suggested drive is north for one hour, and then reverse course and drive south for one hour," the release instructs supporters.

Participants are asked to decorate their vehicles with American flags, Trump banners and other patriotic displays.

“Trump 2020 Cannonball Run is not a race in any sense,” said Ponkowski. “This is a rolling display to show support for Trump. So drive the minimum legal speed so those watching along the route can enjoy the experience."

“Michiganders, perhaps more than others, know that the road to the White House in 2020 runs through Michigan,” he continued. “As we enter the home stretch of the 2020 election cycle, let’s make the Cannonball Run a special display of support for Trump.”

Rest stops designated by vehicle rally organizers include those in West Branch, Gaylord, Cadillac, Morley, and Mackinaw City.

More information about this event can be found on the Michigan Conservative Coalition website.
