Soo Youth Opera, under the direction of Karen Beacom, and STARS Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Dottie Case and Maggie Twining, are teaming up again to bring you Mozart’s Magic Flute. This collaboration is the second Youth Opera/Youth Orchestra production.
Journey to a mythical land between the sun and the moon where Prince Tamino faces many trials as he seeks to rescue the queen’s daughter Pamina from the evil Sarastro. Tamino is aided by the birdcatcher Papageno and each adventurer is given a gift to help them on their journey; a magic flute to Tamino and silver bells for Pagageno.
The pair must overcome many obstacles and along the way they learn that not everyone is what they seem. Discover the truth about the Queen of the Night, her three ladies, Sarastro and his servant Monostatos in this triumph of courage, virtue and wisdom.
Tamino will be played by Riley Wilson, Papageno by Turner Callaghan and Papagena by Malia Lefebre. The Queen of the Night will be sung by Eleanor Barbour and Sarastro by Samuel Cox.
