SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. - Christmas shopping would not be complete without Sault Ste. Marie’s downtown Christmas Open House occurring Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019. Downtown businesses will open their doors for great deals on last minute gifts, refreshments and a chance to win a mega downtown gift basket.
Shoppers are encouraged to pick up a Christmas Open House brochure, inside Avery Square to navigate them between shopping destinations. Shoppers who make a purchase from one corresponding stop on the brochure will receive a signature, earning them entry into a drawing for a gift basket worth over $300 in downtown merchandise and gifts.
Complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides will shuttle shoppers along Ashmun Street and Portage Avenue shopping and dining destinations.
Families are welcomed to bring their kids for visits with Santa Claus inside Avery Square from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Dale Johnson, of DRJ Photography, will be onsite capturing moments with Santa.
Photo packages will be available for purchase. For an experience fit for the young and old at heart, event attendees are also encouraged to visit the Chippewa County Historical Society for their annual exhibit of model trains and toy collections from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
