SAULT SAINTE MARIE, MI – War Memorial Hospital (WMH) announces a location change for the COVID-19 Evaluation Drive-Thru station.

Beginning July 2, the Evaluation Drive-Thru will be located at the Nolte St. entrance of WMH.

The Evaluation Drive-Thru is designed as a place to obtain triage care from healthcare providers who will evaluate a person’s risk and the presence of symptoms. Testing will be performed if clinically indicated.

The Evaluation Drive-Thru will be open from 10 am – 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

Patients will need to bring specific items with them to the evaluation station:

  • Insurance card
  • Personal Identification
  • Cell phone Patients should take these steps when utilizing the WMH COVID-19 Evaluation Drive Thru:
    • 1. From West Spruce St, turn south onto Pine Street (behind the WMH employee parking lot) and then east on Nolte St.
    • 2. Remain inside vehicle with windows up.
    • 3. Call 906-253-0137 to register upon arrival.
    • 4. Directions will be provided via phone.

The WMH hotline is open every weekday from 10-5 to help address concerns and answer questions about COVID-19. The WMH hotline can be reached at 906- 632-5922.

The Michigan Department of Health & Human Services offers a hotline as well. It can be reached at 888-535-6136 from 8-5 daily.
