Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like the public’s assistance regarding theft of bicycles

NEWS RELEASE

CRIME STOPPERS

*************************
Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like the public’s assistance regarding theft of bicycles.

Since the beginning of May this year over 18 bicycles were stolen across the city.

Many of the bicycles have been taken from the east end and central part of town regardless if they were locked or secured in a garage or shed.

The thieves appear to be targeting high end bikes like Specialized, Trek and Norco with the stolen bicycles valued at over $9,000.

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste Marie Police remind the public to always lock your bike even if it’s in a garage or shed to a fixed or immovable object and lock your bike in a visible and well lit area when away from home.

If you have information on this crime or any other crime, call Crime Stoppers at 705-942-7867 or 1-800- 222-8477. Type your tip through our website at www.saultcrimestoppers.com or text the keyword SSM along with your tip to 274637.
