CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED At 2:45 this morning city police responded to a report of a vehicle - train collision on Hudson Street. Upon arrival investigating officers determined that none of the involved persons was injured.
CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED
At 2:45 this morning city police responded to a report of a vehicle - train collision on Hudson Street. Upon arrival investigating officers determined that none of the involved persons was injured. They subsequently discovered that the driver of a silver Firebird was Impaired by alcohol. As a result, Christopher Manzano, age 19 of Port Charlotte, Florida, was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mgs. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 20th at 9:00 a.m.


ARREST IN PURSE THEFT
On July 23rd a report was taken by the City Police in regards to the theft of a purse at the YMCA. At 8:30 yesterday evening Melissa Hopkin, age 19 of 314 Albert Street East was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Office and charged with Theft Under $ 5,000.00 and Possession of Stolen Property. She will be appearing in court on Sept. 20th at 9:00 a.m.


SHOPLIFTING CHARGES
At 1:30 this morning Daniel Josef Miller, age 27 of 40 Hynes Street Apt. 110, was arrested and charged with Theft Under $ 5,000.00. It is alleged that the accused was at the A&P in the Churchill plaza and attempted to leave the store with a quantity of groceries that he had concealed in a shopping bag. He will be appearing in court on Sept 20th at 9:00 a.m.

At 8:30 yesterday evening city police officers were called to the Canadian Tire Store in regards to a shoplifter. It is alleged that the accused was seen, via television cameras, placing various electronic items in his pockets. Security arrested the accused when exited the store and held him for the police. Charged with Theft Under $ 5,000.00 is Paul Caputo, age 31, of 303 Hampton Street. He will be appearing in court on Sept 20th at 9:00 a.m.


BREAK & ENTER
City police are investigating an attempted break and enter that took place at a residence in the 100 block of Chlebus Street. The suspects cut the screen and pried at the window of the rear door but were not successful in gaining entry.


MISCHIEF COMPLAINTS
The City Police are investigating three reports of mischief that took place yesterday. One occurred in the northern part of the city, in the 800 block of Old Garden River Road and two occurred in the southern part of the city, in 100 block of Albert Street West and in the 100 block of Alexandra Street. In all three incidents the victims report that their vehicles were “keyed”. That is that someone used a sharp object, possibly a key, to scratch the paint.


THEFTS FROM VEHICLES
City Police are investigating another two thefts from vehicles this morning. A vehicle parked in the 700 block of Black Road was entered and unknown items were stolen. The second incident took place in the 100 block of Albert Street West. Residents in those areas should check their cars to see if anything was stolen.


HOUSES DAMAGED
City Police received a call late last night in regards to a group of youths throwing bottles at a house in the area of Copernicus Drive near Amber Street. Earlier in the week police received a complaint that a group of youths was throwing eggs at houses in the same area. Anyone having any knowledge about these two occurrences is asked to contact the City Police.
