Impaired Driving Charges Laid

19-year old Robin Elie of 55 Princeton Drive was arrested shortly before 3 am this morning after he was involved in a single motor vehicle collision. It is alleged that Mr. Elie was traveling northbound on East Street when he turned right onto Wellington Street East and lost control of his pickup truck. The vehicle then ran off the road and struck a fence in the 700 block of Wellington Street East. Mr. Elie was not injured and the vehicle sustained moderate damage. City Police attended and found Mr. Elie to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused has been charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. He will appear in court on March 14th.

Assault Charge

40-year old Ronald Brown of 21-874 Queen Street East was arrested around 5 pm last night for assaulting another male. It is alleged that the accused assault the victim on the 7th of February by grabbing the male and punching him in the face. The incident occurred in a residence in the downtown area. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on March 14th.
