Youth Charged with Mischief
A 16-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday afternoon. It is alleged that the youth got into a verbal argument with an adult known to them, which escalated, to the point where the youth pointed a pellet gun at the adult. City Police were called. Upon speaking with the adult it was learned that the youth had recently damaged a door in the residence. The youth has been charged with one count of mischief and one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to public.
2 Counts of Assault Laid
A 25-year old male will appear in bail court today after being arrested shortly before 10 pm last night. It is alleged that the male assaulted his girlfriend by punching her in the shoulder. During the course of their investigation officers also learned that the accused allegedly assaulted the same victim on the 20th of February by punching her in the arm and throwing a plastic bottle of at her. The male has been charged with 2 counts of assault.
Theft Charges Laid on Youth
A 16-year old youth will appear in court on March 29th after being arrested yesterday afternoon. It is alleged that the youth entered the L.C.B.O. in the Station Mall on the 7the and 23rd of February and stole 3 bottles of vodka on those 2 occasions. The youth has been charged with 2 counts of theft under $5,000.
2 Vehicle Collision
Officers from Traffic Service are asking for the public’s assistance in their investigation into a motor vehicle collision yesterday at noon hour at Bay Street and East Street. A car being operated by Suzanne Moffatt of 33 Riverview Avenue was traveling southbound on East Street. A truck being operated by Katherine Weston of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan was traveling eastbound on Bay Street. The 2 vehicles collided in the intersection. Suzanne Moffatt was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment on non-life threatening injuries. The Sault Ste.
