THIEVES TARGET AUTOS
In the last 24 hours City Police have taken 4 more reports of vehicles being entered. 3 of the vehicles were in the downtown area and one was in the “P” patch area of town.
In June there were 57 reports of thefts from vehicles and so far this month 94 reports have been received. You are reminded to take steps to make it harder for a thief to get into your vehicle.
When you leave your doors unlocked and the windows down on your car you are making it easy for a thief to get your property. These thieves are usually looking for money or items that can be sold or pawned for money. Thieves have taken loose change, credit cards, large quantities of CD’s, cameras and even a laptop.
