MULTIPLE CHARGES
Early yesterday morning members of the newly formed team of officers whose mandate is to target problem areas of crime, struck successfully. One of the areas the team is working on is the large number of vehicles that have been entered and had items removed

Police received a call of a person going through vehicles in the “P” patch area of town and when members of the team arrested a youth they found several items that had been reported stolen from a vehicle. Police also found a knife, a flashlight, and a pool ball attached to a cloth, which was used to break into the vehicles.

The youth became upset when arrested and charged at officers and attempted to kick them a number of times. The accused also advised the officers that he/she would get a knife and stab one of the officers in the face.

The youth was subsequently charged with one count of trespassing by night, one count of threatening death or bodily harm, one count of resisting arrest, one count of possession of housebreaking tools, one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon since the knife the youth had was a “flick” knife. The youth will appear in bail court today.
