ARRESTED AT SCHOOL Yesterday at 10:45 am, the accused, Terry Gauthier, age 37 of 75 James Street, was causing a disturbance by yelling and swearing in the hallways of Holy Angels School.

Yesterday at 10:45 am, the accused, Terry Gauthier, age 37 of 75 James Street, was causing a disturbance by yelling and swearing in the hallways of Holy Angels School.

Police were there to assist school staff in searching the school for drugs. During the search, Gauthier threatened the officer involved by stating he would paunch him in the head. The accused was arrested and charged with Causing a Disturbance and Threatening. He will appear in court on April 28th.


MAN ASSAULTS GIRLFRIEND
On Wednesday at approximately 6:00 pm, the accused, a 43-year-old male from Wellington Street East assaulted his 32-year-old girlfriend by grabbing her by the arm, pushing her and kicking her.

The accused then allegedly committed mischief by smashing the rear drivers side window on the victim's vehicle, a Dodge Caravan. Yesterday at 12:20 pm, the male went to the Police Services Building and was arrested and charged with Assault and Mischief. He will appear in court on April 28th.


MAN ARRESTED FOR OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE
Between February 23 and February 24, Michael Wilcott, age 35 of McNabb Street breached his condition not to communicate directly or indirectly with a 16-year-old female by calling her.

Wilcott also allegedly obstructed justice by influencing or attempt to influence the female not to testify if he paid her some money. Yesterday at 1:00 pm, police officers arrested Wilcott at the courthouse at 425 Queen Street East. He was charged with Obstructing Justice and Breach of Undertaking. He will appear in bail court.


ARRESTED FOR THREATENING
In the month of August in 2002, Chris Zalewski, age 26 of 261 Wallace Terrace allegedly obstructed justice by threatening to beat up an adult female if she testified against him in court.

In addition, Zalewski breached his undertaking by communicating with the victim directly. Zalewski was arrested at the courthouse yesterday at approximately 2:05 pm and charged with Threatening, Obstructing Justice and Breach of Undertaking. He will appear in bail court today.


DRUG BUST
Yesterday at 2:35 pm, police officers from the joint forces drug unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Gore Street. Officers located four persons in the residence at the time.

The individuals were Dennis Cory Guzzo, age 20 of 125 Gore Street, Raymond Gregoire, age 19 of 217 Beverly Street, along with 16 and a 17-year-old females from London Streert.

Officers initially located two separately packaged grams of cocaine in a metal tin on a table in front of where all four persons were sitting. Also on the table, police located a baggie of ten ecstasy pills within the same tin along with another baggie of six ecstasy pills beside the tin.

All four persons were arrested for possession of a controlled drug.. The subsequent search of the residence brought about the 2 grams of cocaine, and 16 ecstasy pills as mentioned along with a cannabis resin splifs, $195 in cash, 3 cellular phones and numerous papers with names and phone numbers and empty baggies.

Street value of all drugs seized is estimated at approximately $525.00. Guzzo has been charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Probation. He will appear in court on April 28th.

Gregoire has been charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Drug and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking. He will appear in bail court today.

The females were both charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of a Controlled Drug. The 17-year-old will appear in bail court today, while the 16-year-old will appear in court at the end of April.


MAN ASSAULTS WIFE
On Wednesday in the early evening, the accused a 33-year-old male from Andrew Street assaulted his 39-year-old common-law wife. The accused arrived at their residence extremely intoxicated and woke the victim who was sleeping on the couch.

He allegedly started arguing with her then pushed her around. The victim fell into the stove causing abrasions to her hand and forearm. Saunders is also on probation to not molest, harass, or annoy the victim. At 11:45 pm, officers arrested and charged him with Assault and Breach of Probation. He will appear in bail court.


BREAK & ENTERS
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was busy investigating several break and enters. Sometime between 9:00 pm on Wednesday and 7:50 am yesterday, a break and enter occurred at Flowers with Flair, 280 Bruce Street. Entry was gained through the window on the east side of the business. Once inside, a small quantity of cash was stolen from the cash drawer. Thieves then exited through the door on the east side.

At approximately 1:23 am this morning thieves threw a fire extinguisher through the window at Household Financial Corporation at 111A Great Northern Rd. The fire extinguisher was stolen from the Best Western Hotel on Great Northern Road. No entry appeared to have been gained to the business.

While officers were investigating this incident, police received another call at 1:37 am that thieves broke into Foremost Pet Foods at 68 Second Line West. Investigation revealed that thieves entered the building by spinning the lock on the entrance door. They then tried unsuccessfully to enter the cash register. They were able to steal a small quantity of petty cash from the store. Thieves then exited the building and fled the scene in a westbound vehicle.

At approximately 3:50 am this morning, police were advised that it appeared that two males had broken a rear window of Coles International at 120 Huron Street in an attempted break and enter. Officers are currently investigating these crimes and the Police Service requests anyone with information on them to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers.


MAN NETS SEVERAL CHARGES
Early today, at approximately 1:00 am, Eric Mousseau, age 20 of 366 Korah Road, had used the services of a taxi to transport himself from Jemmette Street to Goulais Avenue. Mousseau did not pay for the service.

He then allegedly went to a west end apartment where he forced his way into the residence of an adult female who was known to him. Once inside, Mousseau caused mischief and theft by breaking beer bottles and damaging property. Mousseau also took 5 bottles of Northern Superior Beer, valued at $9.00.

While there unlawfully, Mousseau threatened the female victim with death and assaulted her by directing a utility knife towards her and forcing her lower chest into a door.

Police Officers were called to the apartment and arrested and charged Mousseau with Fare Fraud, Forcible Entry, Theft under $5,000.00, Assault with a Weapon, Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, Uttering Death Threats and Mischief. He will appear in bail court today.


IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED
At 4:48 am this morning, patrol officers arrested and charged Barbara Schmidt, age 37 of 81 Hillside Drive with Impaired Driving and Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm. Officers' investigation revealed that a 1992 Mercury Topaz was driven into the side of JBC Variety at Gore Street and Albert Street West.

An adult female passenger in the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Schmidt will appear in court on April 28th.
