STASH STUFFED
On the 7th of October 2003, the accused, Roland Periard, age 18 of 327 Cathcart Street was observed in the equipment room and one of the locker rooms at 1601 Wellington Street East, Sir James Dunn High School, allegedly stealing a small quantity of cash.

Yesterday morning Roland Periard turned himself in at the city police station. Patrol officers executed outstanding warrants for two counts of Theft under $5,000.00 and two counts of Breach of Probation. The accused was remanded to the Northern Treatment Centre for bail court today.

Later that same evening he was brought to the walk in clinic at 941 Queen Street East feeling ill. An examination revealed that the accused was concealing two 5-gram vials of a black tar like substance, believed to be hash oil, in his body. Patrol officers charged the accused with Possession of a Controlled Drug and another count of Breach of Probation. He will appear in court on December 22nd on these charges.

SEXUAL ASSAULT
Yesterday afternoon just after 1:00 pm the accused, Bruce McElwain, age 51 of 306 Korah Road alloegedly followed an adult female to her residence from a store on Bruce Street.

The accused then unlawfully entered the victim’s home and assaulted her by slapping her in the head. The accused then sexually assaulted the victim by her genital area while demanding sex.

The victim ran outside the residence for help and received minor injures in the incident. She was distantly known to the accused. At 1:25 pm patrol officers arrested and charged the accused with Sexual Assault, Assault and Unlawfully in a Dwelling House. He will appear in court on December 29th.

COFFEE MUGS CAN BE DANGEROUS
On the 29th of September 2003 the accused Craig Witty, age 31 of 137 East Street allegedly assaulted the victim, an adult male, by punching him in the head several times with a coffee mug in his hand. The assault resulted in the victim requiring medical treatment.

Yesterday at approximately 10:50 am the accused was arrested by patrol officers on an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault. He will appear in bail court today.

DON’T CALL US
Last night, the accused, a 27 year old male, breached his undertaking by phoning and going to the residence of his ex-spouse. During this time he allegedly threatened the victim.

At 8:45 pm patrol officers arrested and charged the accused with Breach of Undertaking, Threatening and Criminal Harassment. He will appear in bail court today.

BREAK INS LAST NIGHT
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated two break ins in the past twenty four hours. At shortly after 8:00 am yesterday morning patrol officers were called to the Lucky House at 7 Great Northern Road for a break-in. Thieves appear to have removed a small quantity of money and alcohol.

And at shortly after midnight this morning patrol officers were called to a residence on Second Avenue where a home had been entered and some clothing removed.
