ASSAULT CHARGE
On Friday, the 10th of October 2003, the accused a 39 year old male from the city, assaulted his common law wife causing a cut to the back of her head, bruising to her arms and to go unconscious. When the victim regained consciousness she sought help from a friend and was taken to hospital in private vehicle. On the 16th of October at 7:45 am, the accused turned himself over to police officers at the Police Services Building. The accused was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm. He will appear in court on November 17th.
STORE THEFTS
On Thursday, the 16th of October 2003 at approximately 12:45 pm, Mitchell Hilderley, age 21 of 846 Bonney Street and Neil Vallee, age 22 of 207 Letcher Street, were at the Zellers Store at 293 Bay Street. The accused took a pair of boots and left store without paying for them. At 12:50 pm the accused were arrested by store security and at 1:10 pm patrol officers continued the arrest and charged the accused with Theft. A police records check revealed that Hilderley was on a probation order to keep the peace and be good. He faces the additional charge of Breach of Probation. They will appear in court on November 17th.
In a similar incident from October 16th, 2003 the accused, Majorie Ruttan, age 58 of Bruce Mines was in the Zellers Store at 293 Bay Street and left without paying for several items of merchandise. The accused was arrested by security and turned over to police at 11:58 am. She has been charged with Theft and will appear in court on November 24th.
MISCHIEF CHARGES LAID
On the 5th of September 2003 at approximately 5:00 pm the accused Walter Collins, age 27 of 39 Algoma Ave. called Canada Customs advising staff of a bomb threat directed toward the International Bridge. Police were notified and detectives from the Investigation Services Section commenced an investigation.
On October 16th at 6:15 pm Detectives arrested and charged the accused with Mischief. He will appear in court on November 24th.
ASSAULT AND ROBBERY
At 1:18 am this morning patrol officers arrested a 21-year-old male who assaulted his ex-girlfriend and another male while he was at the Canadian Motor Hotel. The accused punched the male victim in the head and then shoved the female to the ground. Once the female victim was on the ground the accused stole her purse. Both victims received minor injures.
Patrol officers, a short distance from the scene arrested the accused and charged him with Assault and Robbery. He will appear in court on November 24th.
COTTAGE BREAK INS
Shortly before 1:00 pm yesterday patrol officers were called to Prince Lake in Prince Township for a break and enter to a cottage there. The officer’s investigation revealed that two other cottages had also been broken into. Initial investigation revealed that a chainsaw and weed trimmer was taken. All three cottages were vandalized in the break ins.

HENRIETTA ST. GUNSHOT
Detectives from the Investigation Services Section are currently investigating an occurrence where a weapon was discharged in the 100 block of Henrietta Ave. Shortly after 4:00 am yesterday morning, patrol officers were dispatched to a home on Henrietta Ave. for the report of a gunshot.
Officers attended at the residence and determined that no one was injured in the incident. Detectives are currently investigating this matter.
