JEALOUS RAGE
On April 10 at approximately 4:30 pm, a 24-year-old female from Crawford Street was at a residence on Elgin Street to see her estranged husband. She was described as being in a jealous rage. She was yelling at him and then ended up shoving, kicking and punching the 43-year-old male.

An upstairs tenant in the residence finally got her to leave. Shortly thereafter at approximately 5:30 pm, the female encountered the male victim at the Public Library. The male sought refuge in the men's washroom. The female chased him into the basement where she followed him into the men's room.

Once inside, the female began grabbing at him from under the stall door. The stall was damaged during this struggle. The female eventually assaulted the victim again by shoving, kicking and punching him. The victim received some small knicks on his forehead and face from this assault.

Patrol officers were able to locate the female on April 12th at 8:57 pm and arrested and charged her with two counts of Assault. She was also found to be on a probation order to keep the peace and be good. Subsequently she was charged with Breach of Probation. She will appear in court on May 26th.


BREACH OF PROBATION
On Saturday, the accused, a 15-year-old female from Reid Street, breached her probation by not abiding by her curfew (9:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.). She was out and returned to her residence at 12:03 a.m. on April 13th.

Police officers, at the youth's residence arrested and charged her with Breach of Probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. She will appear in court in late April.


STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED
Yesterday at 2:10 pm, patrol officers observed a purple coloured vehicle turn south onto Beverly Street from Wellington Street West. The vehicle, a 1993 Honda Civic had been reported stolen earlier in the day at 8:50 am.

Officers stopped the stolen car in a driveway on Beverly Street near St. George's Avenue West. The driver was a 17-year-old male from Cunningham Road and the passenger was a 16-year-old male from Donlands Avenue in Toronto.

Both were arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property. The 17-year-old will appear in court in mid May, while the 16-year-old will appear in bail court today.


WOMAN ARESTED FOR BREACH
Yesterday at 6:55 pm, patrol officers arrested and charged Tammy Lynne Moore, age 35 of 212 Albert Street West, with two counts of Being Unlawfully at Large and two counts of Breach of Probation.

Moore was charged as a result of failing to report to the Northern Treatment Centre for serving her intermittent sentence. She failed to report in on April 4th and 11th. In addition she was found to be breaching her release conditions by consuming alcohol and being intoxicated. She will appear in bail court today.


HE HAD SOMETHING UNDER HIS ARM
Early today, at 2:25 am, police officers patrolling a laneway in the 500 block of Queen Street East observed a male running away from their cruiser.

The officers observed him run across Albert Street and behind the Central United Church and then back across Albert towards Queen Street. Officers noted the male to be carrying something under his arm.

He was stopped on Brock Street behind the Royal Bank and ordered to put the object down. The male complied with this order and placed a stolen parking meter on the ground.

Police arrested and charged, Donald Moore, age 24 of 138 East Street, #304, with Theft under $5,000.00. He will appear in court on May 20th.

The parking meter head was returned to the City Board of Works and Officers believe it was stolen from the Elgin/King Street area.


BREAK & ENTERS
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated one break and enter over the weekend. On Saturday morning at 7:22 am, officers were called to Steeltown Motors at 239 Northern Avenue East where thieves broke a window, entered the building and disturbed items in the main office.
