CONCEALED WEAPON CHARGE
On Saturday at approximately 2:30 a.m., Accide Tanner age 22 of 232 Cheshire, allegedly had a disagreement with another male and threatened him with a knife.
City Police were contacted and Tanner was arrested a short distance away without incident. A search revealed the knife. He was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and being intoxicated in a public place. He is to appear in court on September 22.
SECOND ARREST IN NIGHT CLUB BRAWL
A second arrest has been made in connection to an assault on a manager of a local drinking establishment.
Justin Pigeau, age 20 of 15 Ransome Dr., along with co-accused Curtis Nadon, age20 of 429 Whitney Avenue allegedly punched and kicked the victim numerous times.
During the assault damage occurred to a wall. Pigeau and Nadon will appear in court Sept. 22.
CHARGED WITH THEFT
On August 15 at approximately 11:20 a.m., Sonia Winiki, age 38 of 244 John Street, and the co accused Stanislav Bednarik age 53 of the same address, allegedly entered a local grocery store and concealed several items in a baby stroller and a purse.
Store security apprehended both parties and held them until City Police attended and arrested and charged both with theft under $5000.00. They will attend court the Sept. 22.
BUS SHELTER DAMAGED
On Saturday, a young person was observed damaging the glass to an east end city bus shelter. At a result of the information and description received from the witness, City Police arrested the young person for mischief. The youth charged with mischief will appear in court late September.
STOLEN STREET SIGNS
On Saturday, City Police officers were called to 26 Terry Fox Place in regards to a noise complaint and persons throwing stuff over the balcony. Upon arrival officers could hear loud voices coming from an apartment.
When officers arrived at the apartment, they observed a total of 10 street signs lying there. Patrick Bazely, age 27 of 26 Terry Fox Pl. #110, Tyrell Hayes age 18 of 26 Terry Fox Pl. #315 and Derek Crawford age18 of 361 Dacey Road have been charged with possession of stolen property and will appear in court on Sept. 22.
ASSAULT OVER OWED MONEY
Last Friday at approximately 9:30 p.m., Henry Cadreau 21 of 28 Hughes Street and a young person assaulted another young person with a 2x2 club.
It appears an argument ensued over the victim being owed money and when he tried to get it back the argument started and he was assaulted. He went to the Sault Area Hospital for minor injuries and was released.
Upon Cadreau's arrest, Police located a small amount of hash oil. Cadreau is to attend court on September 22 for the assault with a weapon and narcotics charge. The other young person will appear in late September for the assault with a weapon.
