MAN CHARGED WITH THREATENING DEATH
On August 15 between 1 and 1:30 pm, the victim, a female in her early twenties, had her life threatened by her ex-boyfriend. The female had broken up with the 22-year-old male and he was having a difficult time accepting their separation.

The victim initially was not overly concerned with the threat until the accused began continually contacting her and attempting to see her. On August 24th at 5:00 pm patrol officers arrested and charged the male with Threatening Death or Bodily Harm. He is scheduled to attend in court on September 29th.


16-YEAR-OLD CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
On July 19, at approximately 11:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the area of Brock and Bay Streets in regards to an assault that had occurred earlier that evening.

Upon arriving the officers spoke with a 15-year-old male who advised he had been assaulted by an unknown male. Officers learned that the two parties started an argument that resulted in physical violence.

The 15-year-old was punched on the left cheek and then on the left lower lip. The victim fell to the ground and when he got up, he was struck down again. The accused male then left scene on foot. The victim received minor injuries in the incident.

Yesterday at 8:28 pm, patrol officers arrested the accused, a 16-year-old male, and charged him with Assault. He will appear in bail court today.


YOUTHS ARRESTED FOR BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE
Yesterday, the accused, a 16-year-old male breached his recognizance. Patrol officers located the youth outside his residence and without his surety after his 9:00 pm curfew was in effect. At 11:30 pm patrol officers arrested the youth at an Albert Street West address and charged him with Breach of Recognizance. He will appear in bail court today.

In a similar incident yesterday at approximately 11:10 pm, the accused, a 12-year-old male, breached his probationary curfew of 7pm-7am by being at friend?s house and not in his own residence. At 11:35 pm patrol officers arrested and charged the youth with Breach of Probation. Further investigation revealed that several outstanding warrants were in effect for the youth for other counts of breach probation. The youth will appear in bail court today.


ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
Shortly after midnight this morning, patrol officers were called to the area of Boundary Road and Broad Street for a group of persons causing a disturbance. The investigation revealed that two males fought each other on the street. One of the males, a 25-year-old from Cambridge Place, swung an axe at the other male during the fight.

The axe did not strike the other male, a 21-year-old from Boundary Road, but immediately following the fight he left the scene in the 25-year-old's Chevrolet truck. The 21-year-old accused then drove it into a mail box at the corner of Amber and Copernicus Drive causing over $1,000.00 damage.

At 12:35 am the 21-year-old was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Theft under $5,000.00. At 1:20 am patrol officers arrested and charged the 25-year-old male with Assault with a Weapon. Both accused will appear in court on September 29th.


BREAK & ENTERS
Patrol officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated several break ins yesterday.

At approximately 4:25 am, thieves broke into Subway at 153 Great Northern Road. The thieves stole a small quantity of cash and left the building.

Shortly after 7:00 am, a homeowner on St. Georges Avenue East advised police that thieves had broken into his garage.

At 11:00 am officers were called to a residence on St. Mary's Avenue where thieves had broken in.

At approximately 1:30 this morning officers responded to a suspected break and enter complaint at St. Hubert's School at 207 Dacey Rd. when witnesses called the police station to reported they observed flashlight beams at the school. Patrol officers went to the area and located several young persons in the schoolyard but no signs of entry to the building. The young persons were returned to their parents.

At 4:30 this morning officers were called to Harvey's Restaurant at 184 Great Northern Road where thieves had entered the building. Initial reports note that nothing appeared missing from the restaurant.
