MAN FOUND DEAD
On Friday Aug 27th at approximately 8:00 a.m., city police were called to an address in the 500 block of Albert Street West regarding an elderly male lying unconscious near an apartment building.

Donald Martin, age 65, who lived in the building, was taken to hospital where he passed away. Police say foul play is not suspected.


BREAK & ENTERS
The City Police Service is investigating an attempted entry and a break and enter to two businesses on Trunk Road. On Saturday evening to the early morning hours of Sunday, thieves forced the rear door of the Hong Kong Restaurant at 241 Trunk Road. Once inside the culprit(s) stole an unknown amount of cash.

During this same time period thieves attempted to gain entry to the Trunk Road Quick Mart. In both incidents the wires leading into the building were cut.

City police officers were also kept busy with 4 other Break and Enters over the weekend. Break–ins were report to the following addresses:

1.The 100 block of Biggings Ave where an apartment was broken into – unknown what was taken.

2.The 300 block of Elizabeth St where thieves stolen a child’s 4 wheeler and tools from storage shed.

3.The 100 block of Ransome Dr. where a purse was stole- entry was gained via patio door.

4.The 100 block of Promenade Dr. Unknown what was taken when a shed was entered.


CHARGED WITH THREATS
On Friday Aug 27th City Police arrested 46-year-old Derek Reinhart, age 46 of 1191 Wallace Terrace and charged him with 4 counts of Threatening and one count of Assault. It is alleged that the accused, upset with the victim and his family, went to the victim’s home, made the threats and pushed the victim. The accused will be attending court on Oct 4th.


ASSAULT
Wesley Hallam, age 23, of 63 Foothill Road was arrested on Saturday at 3:45 a.m. on a charge of Assault Causing Bodily Harm. It is alleged that Mr. Hallam assaulted a person, known to him, causing sever facial injuries. Alcohol was involved in this incident. Mr. Hallam will be appearing in court on Oct. 4th at 9:00 a.m.


VICTIM CHOKED
Ron Rennison, D.O.B.: 24 Dec 1962, of 92 Copernicus St. was arrested and charged with Assault and Threatening on Sat. Aug 28th. It is alleged that on Saturday Aug 28th at approx. 2:30 PM the accused kicked and choked the victim. While committing this offence the accused also threatened to kill the victim. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 a.m.


ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
On Sat. Aug 28th at approx. 8:15 PM Thomas Pine, age 35 of 116 Andrew Street was involved in a fight at the River Rock Bar on Queen at Gore Streets. During the fight Mr. Pine picked up a 2X4 and swung it at two people. The accused struck one person on the arm before being subdued. He was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 a.m.
