STOLEN CAR CRASHES INTO HOUSE Two young persons were arrested early this morning after the stolen car they were driving struck a house in the 100 block of Bainbridge Street. Police observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on North Street.
STOLEN CAR CRASHES INTO HOUSE
Two young persons were arrested early this morning after the stolen car they were driving struck a house in the 100 block of Bainbridge Street.

Police observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on North Street. The officers followed the vehicle and as it turned onto Bainbridge Street, the driver lost control. The vehicle slid sideways before striking a house.

Three young persons were then observed running from the vehicle. Police apprehended two and are searching for the third. The driver of the vehicle was charged with Theft Under $ 5,000.00, Possession of Stolen Property and Dangerous Driving.

This person will be attending Bail Court today at 10:00 AM. The second person was charged with Theft Under $5.000.00 and Possession of Stolen Property and will be appearing in Court on Sept. 14th at 9:30 a.m.


COLLISION WITH INJURIES
On Saturday evening, city police were called to a motor vehicle collision, with injuries, on Estelle Street. Upon arrival officers noted that the driver had been drinking and read the demand for a breath test.

The accused refused to provide a breath sample and was subsequently charged. He is Mark Anich, age 53 of 217 Wallace Terrace. The accused and his passengers suffered minor injuries in the accident. Mr. Anich will be appearing in court on Sept. 27th at 9:00 a.m.


CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
Yesterday at 10:20 p.m., police were called to an address in the 100 block of Northern Avenue in regards to an assault. It is alleged that the accused, Sherry Yurchuk, age 27, assaulted two people by punching and shoving them. She was subsequently charged with two counts of Assault. Yurchuk, of 52 Northern Avenue will be appearing in Court on Sept. 20th at 9:00 a.m.


U.S. CITIZEN CHARGED WITH ASAULT
At 7:00 p.m. yesterday, city police were called to the 1000 block of Second Line West in regard to an assault. Upon their arrival, the victim informed police that a male, known to her, had assaulted her. The assault consisted of the accused punching the victim in the face several times. The accused, a 36-year-old American, will be attending Bail Court today at 10:00 a.m.


BREAK & ENTERS
City Police were called to investigate three break and enters over the weekend. The first was to the Jiffy Car Wash at 32 Bay St. Culprit(s) gained entry by forcing a rear door. At this time it is not known what was stolen.

The second report of a break and enter was to a residence in the 200 block of Anna Street. At this location, thieves gained entry via a basement window and stole a small amount of cash.

The third break–in took place in the 100 block of Cathcart Street where thieves stole stereo and electronic equipment.

City Police are investigating eight theft reports from the west end. Thieves worked in the Carpin Beach Road, Town Line and Second Line West areas during the weekend. Stolen were various articles from vehicles and yards. Citizens seeing any suspicious vehicles are asked to contact the City Police.
